Parking Lot Issues - Final List (6-6-05)

  1. Establish a District Strategic Planning Committee based on common institutional priorities, processes and assessments that support collaborative communication and a district mission, vision, philosophy.
    1. Develop an assessment mechanism to evaluate site performance and system processes for each institution and the District. (Table for Review)
    2. Processes for District Strategic Planning should be coordinated and then integrated while respecting the uniqueness of each institution.
  2. Establish a framework within which the five institutions and the district headquarters could work in an integrated fashion to support strategic planning, short term planning, contingencies and opportunistic responses.
    1. Coordinate District & local outreach marketing strategies.
    2. Increase function between the District and the institutions; identify weaknesses, organizational relationships.
    3. Create an umbrella to include district wide criteria like enrollment, effective data, instructional planning retention and persistence as some of the common institutional priorities.
    4. Communicate information out from the District in preparation for crisis planning.
    5. Develop a staffing model or formula to address the faculty and classified staff needed to adequately support each new Prop S building.
    6. Coordinated IT planning and upgrade.
    7. Coordination between the colleges and the district facilities operation
    8. Identify organizational relationships between the district and the institutions and among the district bodies.
    9. Synchronize institution planning cycles with district budget development. (In process)
  3. Solicit innovative ideas based on common priorities and criteria from all institutions, fund pilot projects which allow the originators to research and try out new initiatives and enhance institutional planning.
  4. Establish regular use of an internal/external environmental scan at appropriate time intervals in a comprehensive manner. (In process)
  5. Establish a process to review current and add new parking lot issues.
